Targeted Consultation open for a licensing regime for refrigeration, heating and air conditioning technicians

You may be aware Government have issued the attached Targeted Consultation document for the Refrigeration Licensing Regime, which covers Specific Matters of Detail.  I suggest everyone with interest in the need for regulation in this industry take the time to read this comprehensive document.  Members of all boards and the Credential Committee who have been closely involved in this process to date will meet in coming days to discuss next steps.

The consultation phase is 6 weeks which would normally be sufficient, but combined with Christmas and our industries busiest time, the timeframe is unfortunately compressed.

We encourage you to ‘have your say’, directly with government or as part of our industry led submissions.  We will provide more information on our concerns, views and next steps to ensuring we provide a strong voice for our industry in coming days.

If you wish to make any comments now, we encourage you to post comments on the IRHACE Facebook Page, or email Christine@irhace.org.nz and she will share this with the Credential Committee, and add to the Submission where relevant. To read the consultation document please click here.
